Transit delays and unreliability can make riding the bus a nonstarter for those who have other ways to get around. Giving transit vehicles priority on Bay Area roads can deliver the speed and reliability improvements needed to get more people on buses and out of cars.

California High-Speed Rail: Under Construction and Moving Forward

In early March, the California High-Speed Rail Authority released its draft 2018 business plan, which outlines key milestones ahead and updates forecasts for costs, service levels and ridership. The plan has some important changes, including a revised funding and delivery schedule of the first operating segment, which will service in the Bay Area and Central Valley as soon as 2027.

SPUR Supports Protected Bikes Lanes at Lake Merritt

Advocacy Letter
SPUR supports the creation of protected bike lanes around Lake Merritt. Two of our core transportation goals are to make our streets safe and inviting for pedestrians and to complete our bicycle networks. This project would accomplish both goals.

SPUR Supports Caltrain Business Plan Final Business Strategy and Scope of Work

Advocacy Letter
SPUR supports the final Caltrain Business Plan Principles and Scope of Work. In addition, we recommend that the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board continue to invest in the Caltrain Business Plan process, and look beyond the United States status quo to international models of operating railroads.
