California is facing a $3.1 billion budget deficit for its public transit agencies through 2021. To ensure that the state can continue to sustain frequent, reliable service and protect the health and safety of both its transit riders and workers, it is imperative that Congress includes a combined $32 billion in federal transit funding as part of its upcoming stimulus package. What roadblocks to its passage currently exist and what will it take to get that funding through the legislature? Come hear from some of California's top transit leaders and advocates as they discuss the critical role of the federal government in funding transportation, the equity implications resulting from the potential collapse of our transit networks and the relationship between transit, public health and climate change. Help elevate the importance of public transportation for our elected officials by joining this urgent conversation and finding out what you can do this week to help save public transit.

Co-hosted by TransForm, ClimatePlan, Dream Corps Green for All, Seamless Bay Area, Friends of Caltrain and Urban Environmentalists. With promotional assistance from Greenlining Institute and San Francisco Transit Riders.
