San Francisco

The High Cost of Free Driving

Lunchtime Forum

We’ve dramatically reduced the plastic bag waste throughout the state simply by charging for bags at grocery stores. Can we address the Bay Area’s grinding traffic and other transportation ills by similar means? Could various pricing policies improve our transportation system, and is doing so even feasible at the local and state levels today or in the future? Come learn about the state’s pilot to roll out a vehicle-miles-traveled fee and what San Francisco’s dynamic parking prices mean for the city.
