San Francisco relies on MUNI, BART, Caltrain and other transit operators to keep the city moving, and public transportation is essential for our environment, economy and quality of life. But the financial outlook for transit post-pandemic is dire- and our region's biggest systems are facing immense budget challenges starting in 2026 as COVID relief funds are exhausted. Sebastain Petty from SPUR will talk about the funding crisis facing transit and what can be done to make sure that these systems not only survive but continue to grow, improve and evolve.

Sebastian Petty is a Senior Policy Advisor focused on transportation issues at SPUR and has worked on transportation policy issues at SPUR for several years and previously held positions at Caltrain and the Presidio Trust.

This program is part of the 2025 Everybody's Climate program series at San Francisco Public Library.
