Opening Up Lake Merritt’s Cultural Institutions
12:30 p.m. | Wednesday, January 15, 2020
SPUR has launched a new ticketing system and we're asking you to register for each event that you're planning to attend. This will help us keep you informed of any changes that may occur and enable us to better tailor our programming to your interests.
At the southern end of Lake Merritt sit two of the city’s major cultural institutions: the beloved Oakland Museum of California and the long-shuttered Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center. For too long, these amenities have been poorly connected to both the lake and each other, but the planned renovations of each aim to resolve those issues and breathe new life into the area. Come hear the latest updates from both projects, which will help solidify the neighborhood’s role as an integrated civic and cultural district.
