A Proposed New Home for the Oakland A's

Lunchtime Forum

On November 28, the Oakland A’s unveiled their proposal for a sparkling new ballpark along the city’s waterfront. Designed by the Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the project features a publicly accessible rooftop park, housing with views of the field and an aerial gondola to provide transport from downtown to its Howard Terminal site. Long anticipated and much speculated, the project could be the crucial first step in relocating the team away from the Oakland Alameda Coliseum, its home for the past 50 years. Join SPUR’s Oakland Director Robert Ogilvie and Oakland A’s president Dave Kaval as we tune in to a livestreamed discussion with the project’s architects to learn more about the proposal and gain an understanding of the next steps in this complex process.
