Advocates of extending the F-line streetcar to Fort Mason have awaited the completion of a federal environmental review for years. With the end of that process now in sight, the opportunity to expand San Francisco’s streetcar service to the western part of Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco National Maritime Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Fort Mason Center and the eastern Marina neighborhood is being presented to the city. Rick Laubscher, president of the Market Street Railway, and Doug Wright, project consultant to Fort Mason Center, will discuss details of the proposed project, including its benefits, costs and plans for implementation.
