Published by Island Press last fall, Urban Green explores new and innovative ways for “built out” cities to add much-needed parkland. Author Peter Harnik explains why urban parks are needed, then addresses a variety of examples and practical solutions, giving helpful guidance to those vested in making cities more beautiful, sociable, ecologically sound, and successful. Peter Harnik is director of the Center for City Park Excellence at the Trust for Public Land. Co-sponsored by the Trust for Public Land and Neighborhood Parks Council. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. Read a Q&A with author Peter Harnik here.
