SPUR Calls for Temporary Cap on Downtown Infrastructure Fees in San Jose

Advocacy Letter

At the June 15 San José City Council Meeting, city staff proposed a cap on downtown infrastructure impact fees that would be double the current amount. However, because a new fee would be unlikely to be adopted until after January of 2023, SPUR submitted a letter recommending that a temporary moratorium on infrastructure fees be adopted until at least that time, especially for loan underwriting purposes. The letter also called for taking into consideration the impact of any fee increases on existing pipeline projects.
