SPUR urges Governor to sign bill to make parking cash-out work

Advocacy Letter

SPUR-sponsored AB2206, authored by Assemblymember Alex Lee, clarifies California's parking cash-out law. For qualifying employees who choose to give-up their parking space and commute without driving a vehicle, this law states that employers must offer the cash equivalent of any parking subsidy that the employer is offering. Specifically, AB2206 clarifies how to determine the amount of cash to which an employee is entitled, making it easier for employees to follow the law and easier for jurisdictions to enforce it. The bill was approved by the legislature and awaits Governor Newsom's signature.
