SPUR typically focuses on policies, plans, and codes instead of supporting individual projects. However, the SPUR Project Review Advisory Board reviews and endorses projects with citywide or regional importance in good placemaking. The Board appreciates that the 36-story mixed-use residential and hotel building at 555 Howard Street will be active on the ground floor and will provide a public rooftop space. Additionally, the Board believes the development provides sufficient density and mix of land use, is an appropriate location for development, and will contribute to a walkable environment. Given all of these factors, the SPUR Project Review Advisory Board endorses the 555 Howard Street project.
