This item was removed from the December 16, 2016 Milpitas City Council agenda. The developer chose not to pursue this amendment to the Milpitas Transit Area Specific Plan at this time.
SPUR supports the staff and planning commission recommendation to implement the Transit Area Specific Plan and deny the proposed amendment which reduces the density and quality of urban design of development in the Milpitas BART station area. SPUR's three chief concerns with the amendment are: degraded transportation and walkability for residents and workers, risk of reducing BART ridership and therefore service and funding, and inability to achieve the TASP vision.
