MIT’s City Science research group is exploring a community engagement platform to analyze and understand current urban planning trends and opportunities. As San Francisco adopts new zoning policies to address the current housing shortage, this platform aims to provide a data-enabled view of what is possible to allow for a more livable, equitable, and resilient city. The City Science team is working to build robust planning and engagement tools that outline potential metrics and tradeoffs, sharing a more holistic view of proposed changes at the community scale.
