Join SPUR for a guided walking tour of San Francisco’s District 5 with Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, representing neighborhoods including the Tenderloin, Hayes Valley, Lower Haight, Western Addition, Fillmore, Alamo Square, Japantown, NoPA, and Haight-Ashbury. The tour will begin at Tenderloin Family Housing, pass through Civic Center, and conclude in Hayes Valley. Along the way, Supervisor Mahmood will share updates on projects underway in the district, discuss his vision for the future, and answer questions from attendees.
Supervisor Mahmood is the son of Pakistani immigrants and the first South Asian and Muslim-American elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. His career has spanned public service, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy, with a focus on advancing public safety, equity, and climate solutions. A lifelong renter based in the Tenderloin, he brings a community-centered perspective to his leadership in City Hall.
