Senator Scott Wiener and a coalition of advocates led by SPUR and Transformcollectively known as the Survive and Thrive Coalitionsuccessfully won $5 billion that can be used to temporarily avert transit's "fiscal cliff". Facing a huge statewide deficit, this campaign was far from easy.
