Why Poetry: A Civic Conversation

Evening Forum

We all reach for poetry at important points in our lives, especially times of joy and times of struggle. Yet so often we have been taught that poetry is unknowable, a riddle to untangle. Come join Oakland poet Matthew Zapruder in conversation with local civic leaders about what poems matter to them and why poetry is a critical part of their lives.
