Affordable Transit for Low-Income Riders

Lunchtime Forum

For people struggling to make ends meet, the cost of a bus or train ticket can be a barrier to transit use. For most households in the Bay Area, transportation is the third-largest monthly expense, behind housing and food, and when transit is out of reach, its promise — access to opportunity — cannot be realized. Hear a panel of experts discuss the challenges that low-income riders face when paying for transit, and the potential solutions to make transit more affordable. Co-presented by Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT).
