California has begun its ambitious investment in high-speed rail. Throughout the world, high-speed rail stations have had transformational impacts on cities and regions. How is California building its high-speed rail stations and what can we learn from France and other places around the world? In this session we will hear from national and global experts on issues related to design, governance, and balancing major new transit infrastructure with the land use and development opportunities created by high speed rail. We will focus on solving specific issues in Fresno, San Jose, and Los Angeles. Co-sponsored by Rail~Volution, The German Marshall Fund of the United States, Perkins + Will and the Low Income Investment Fund.
