After over 12,000 earthquakes, the recovery in Christchurch has begun. In this forum, John Vargo will describe results to date from an ongoing study into the impacts of the earthquakes on Christchurch businesses. The talk will include insights into rebuilding resilience, and paradoxes that have emerged in the early stages of recovery from this devastating regional event that cost 185 lives and damage exceeding 15% of New Zealand GDP.
