The Center for Ecoliteracy recently published a feasibility study calling for a comprehensive reform of the Oakland Unified School District school meals program. The report recommendations include creating a central commissary for the district, upgrading equipment throughout the campuses, raising new funds and setting a goal for local produce procurement. Come hear Jennifer LeBarre, director of nutrition services of the Oakland Unified School District, Zenobia Barlow, executive director of the Center for Ecoliteracy, and Ruth Woodruff of the Oakland School Food Alliance, discuss the study's findings and what it will take to move the recommendations forward.
