Before his unexpected death in 2009, Brian O'Neill had emerged as one of the most beloved and innovative National Park directors in America. His vision of building community partnerships to sustain the Golden Gate National Recreation Area allowed it to grow and thrive over many years, while also fostering a strong sense of local stewardship. Brian served on the SPUR Board of Directors for many years and was one of our region's most beloved civic leaders. We are honored to host Greg Moore, executive director of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, to speak about the meaning of Brian's life and work.
