Policy
Sebastian is SPUR's senior transportation policy advisor, focusing on transit. His work centers on exploring how the Bay Area's regional transit system can deliver services and projects that provide the greatest value to transit riders and the public as a whole. Prior to joining SPUR, Sebastian spent nearly 10 years working in various roles for Caltrain, the commuter railroad connecting San Francisco to the Peninsula and San José. There he most recently served as the head of the railroad's planning department, leading a range of initiatives related to strategic planning, service development, capital planning, governance, and organizational design. Sebastian received a Master's in city and regional planning and a Bachelor's in geography from the University of California at Berkeley.
