Elizabeth Potter
(She/Her)Communications Manager
Communications
Elizabeth is the Communications Manager at SPUR, creating media and materials to promote ideas that will make cities more accessible and useful to the people who live in them. Before working at SPUR, she worked at housing and homelessness services organization Insight Housing in Berkeley, where she focused on media creation and public policy advocacy for equitable supportive housing and behavioral health services. While at Insight, she redesigned the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) and worked extensively with a group of formerly unhoused people and executive leadership to create organizational change. This ignited her passion for creating a more equitable region for everyone who lives here, and her work at SPUR allows her to move closer to this goal.
Elizabeth has a background in documentary filmmaking, affordable housing and homelessness services, and music. She holds a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the University of Colorado Boulder and a master’s degree in violin performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. With roots in San José and San Francisco, she grew up visiting the Bay Area often and is thrilled to live and work here. When she’s not thinking about all of the above, she’s playing beach volleyball, hiking around the Bay Area, and cooking with her housemates.
