In 2020, SPUR made more than 70 policy recommendations and hosted over 13,000 guests at public events. From state legislation we helped write and pass to coalitions we built, Our 2020 Impact Report highlights what we got done during a very challenging year:
• Helped to write and pass three pieces of state legislation
• Responded to the pandemic with recommendations for retail and transit
• Participated in the region’s major recovery task forces
• Successfully transitioned our in-person programs online
• Expanded our voter guide to include all state and local measures in San Francisco, San José and Oakland
• Hosted our first Ideas + Action symposium, on inclusive and equitable public spaces
• Published reports on housing affordability, transit project delivery, climate hazards and more
