James Reber

James P. Reber has been a leader in the Bay Area's nonprofit community for decades, founding a handful of nonprofit organizations in different fields. Mr. Reber was raised in Santa Clara County and is a graduate of Cupertino High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and received a BA in Sociology from UC Berkeley. He began his career with performing arts as Berkeley Shakespeare’s first employee, serving as Managing Director for three seasons.
Mr. Reber moved back to San Jose, where he founded and managed San Jose Repertory Company, producing over 50 plays. His producing continued after the Rep with hundreds of events, including the Walk for AIDS and 14 State of the City events, as well as two San Jose Mayoral Inauguration ceremonies. He founded San Jose Parks Foundation for the City of San Jose and served as Executive Director for 15 years.
Currently, he is launching a new nonprofit organization, Silicon Valley Umbrella Project.
