What does the future hold for transportation in California? Can the state reverse the devastation of transit agencies’ budgets and other profound impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic? Can they incentivize sustainable transportation options and reduce greenhouse gas emissions? And what will it take to repair the harm done to vulnerable communities by the infrastructure choices of yesterday and ensure safe, clean and affordable mobility options that lift up all Californians? Many of the answers to these complex questions lie within the purview of the California State Transportation Agency, and its head, David Kim. In that role, Secretary Kim oversees more than 40,000 employees across eight departments, including Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Come hear what it will take to create a transportation system that delivers sustainability, equity and prosperity for the Bay Area — and all of California.
Co-presented by TransForm, the Bay Area Council, Vision Zero Network, Seamless Bay Area, Friends of Caltrain and Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
