Touring Muni’s Potrero Yard

Tour

We're making some changes to improve your experience with SPUR events.
Starting this June, you'll need to register for each event you plan to attend. This will help us tailor events and keep you informed of any changes to our schedule. You can register using the link in the Admission section below.

When it was originally built in 1915, the SFMTA’s Potrero Yard served 100 streetcars. Today, it houses 158 trolley buses and supports some of the busiest lines in San Francisco. The yard, located at the convergence of the Potrero Hill, SoMa and Mission neighborhoods, serves the buses that riders board more than 104,000 times each day. Join us for a tour of the 4.5-acre site for a behind-the-scenes look at how the agency maintains its massive fleet, and learn how infrastructural improvements in the near future could pave the way for new development on top of the facility.
