Urban Design 101

Lunchtime Forum

We're making some changes to improve your experience with SPUR events.
Starting this June, you'll need to register for each event you plan to attend. This will help us tailor events and keep you informed of any changes to our schedule. You can register using the link in the Admission section below.

What is urban design? Somewhere at the confluence of land use planning, architecture and landscape architecture lies the world of urban design, which addresses the way buildings, streets and public spaces all add up into places that work (or don’t work) for people. In part one of a two-part primer on urban design, come explore the basics of this impactful field, understand its core tenets and skim the history of cities through the eyes of an urban designer.
