The Dark Side of Prosperity in the Bay Area

Lunchtime Forum

The tech-led Bay Area boom has produced copious jobs and sparked innovative ideas that change lives. However, this prosperity has a dark side. A new book by noted writer and academic Richard Walker refers to the Bay Area as the “jewel in the crown of capitalism” and shines a spotlight on the impacts caused by our success, including the greatest housing cost explosion in the country and the growing inequality of wealth. Join the author for a discussion about how the current boom is changing our region.
