Getting to the Rock

Lunchtime Forum

In the near future, the ease of getting to Alcatraz will almost be criminal. The National Park Service and Port of San Francisco are partnering with the Parks Conservancy to bring a new welcome center and ferry landing to the Embarcadero that will serve the famed island. Born of a shared interest in better serving nearly two million visitors each year and telling the layered stories of Alcatraz Island and the San Francisco waterfront, the center is being shaped by a creative cadre of designers. Come hear from the project team as they discuss the emerging vision.
