Our ability to craft sound economic policy depends heavily on our understanding of San Francisco's economic basend how the city's economic activity translates into funding for local government. Economic indicators are data that help us understand overarching trends in the city's economy. The following data, compiled by the San Francisco Center for Economic Development and the Controller's Office, help paint a picture of San Francisco's current economic state and of the funding sources and spending patterns of city government.
