Established in 1932, the San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) has been a groundbreaking champion of the arts since its inception and is responsible for such iconic works as the Coit Tower murals and North Beach’s site-specific installation Language of the Birds. Join the author of San Francisco: Arts for the City as she conveys the impact the SFAC has had on the city’s cultural environment over the past 80 years.
