Cities throughout the world are implementing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects — a less costly form of transit service that can mimic the benefits of light rail. San Francisco has finished the planning for Van Ness BRT and continues planning for Geary BRT, while Santa Clara County will begin construction on Santa Clara-Alum Rock, El Camino and Stevens Creek BRT. Join us for a review of these major transit investments and the challenges these projects face. With Kevin Connolly of the Valley Transportation Authority in the South Bay, Tilly Chang of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, and Timothy Papandreou of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
