Race, Equity and the Future of Oakland

Lunchtime Forum

In October 2016, Oakland launched the Department of Race and Equity, structured to help residents understand systemic racial disparities while working to change existing systems in order to make life in Oakland fair and just for everyone. Join us for a conversation with Darlene Flynn, the director of this new department, to understand how Oakland is attempting to create a city where racial disparities have been eliminated and social equity achieved, and the hurdles that this progress faces.
