A Recipe for Ridership

How do we redesign a bus network to bring more riders onboard? The new Transit Ridership Improvement Program implemented by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is tackling this very challenge. What are the principles of bus network design, and what can we learn from other cities, like Houston, that have redesigned their transit networks with riders in mind?
