SPUR is working to shape transit in the post-pandemic world. SPUR's recent letter to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission Blue Ribbon Task Force for Transit Recovery pushes MTC to:
1) Play a more proactive role in ensuring a high level of consistency in communications and tactical efforts to minimize community spread on transit
2) Take immediate steps to create a truly more equitable transit network by coordinating a network plan for high-quality, frequent service that puts major destinations within easy reach of people of color and low-income people and by rationalizing fares to make transit more affordable
3) Work to proactively fill remaining funding gaps and reduce costs
