SPUR and Statewide Advocates Push for State Funding to Align with Climate, Equity and Health Goals

Advocacy Letter

Assembly Bill 285 (Friedman) directed the Strategic Growth Council to evaluate the State’s transportation funding programs and assess their performance relative to existing state climate, affordable housing, and air quality goals. The evaluation found that many of the programs are working against the state’s climate, equity and public health goals. SPUR and a dozen advocacy organizations across the state recommend 12 ways to align the state's programs, planning, project pipeline and (transportation) pricing with the state's climate, equity and public health goals.
