SPUR Supports Amendment 20 to San Jose Municipal Code for Residential Zoning Districts

SPUR supports the steps that are being taken to improve the city of San Jose’s accessory dwelling unit ordinance and bring it into compliance with state law and encourages the city to take them even further by: increasing the number of single-family lots that qualify for ADUs even more by eliminating restrictions on lot size; eliminating the maximum size of ADUs; allowing for second bedrooms; removing parking requirements; and eliminating the rear yard lot coverage requirement.
