The Opportunity

SPUR seeks candidates for its Public Programming Director. The Public Programming Director plays an important role in strategizing and implementing SPUR’s public education and engagement efforts. Programming acts as the public face for SPUR’s research and analysis, as well as other important projects and issues occurring around the region. The Public Programming Director is charged with providing opportunities for our audience — SPUR members, elected officials, business leaders, government employees, allied organizations, funders, students and the general public — to directly interact with the ideas and individuals that shape the Bay Area, and beyond.

  • Work with curators, designers, funders, installers and SPUR staff to produce and execute an exhibition calendar at the SPUR Urban Center gallery and other venues around the Bay Area, as necessary.
  • Design and maintain a marketing and promotional strategy for SPUR programs and exhibitions through the use of calendars, postcards and other printed collateral, social media and targeted email newsletters.
  • Cultivate SPUR’s coalition of trusted partners to expand the organization’s capacity for programming, audience growth and fundraising.
