The Opportunity
A critical member of SPUR’s Development team, the Development Database Administrator manages overall data input, integration, architecture and analyses. This individual owns the structure of the database, with an eye to streamlining processes and creating solutions in response to the documentation and data management needs of staff. She or he will also support an integrated, donor-centered development and stewardship program to strengthen funder relationships and deepen financial support for SPUR. The successful candidate enjoys strategy, data and analysis while understanding the vital importance these concepts play in overall fundraising efforts. They must have a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of day-to-day configuration, support, and maintenance of Salesforce as well as the integrated applications Pardot, Soapbox, iATS, and Ownbackup.
- Ensure that Salesforce implementation adheres to Salesforce security and access standards, complete regular internal system audits, and prepare for system upgrades.
- Monitor, backup and update Salesforce data including importing, exporting, deduplication, and mass updating of data.
- Create custom reports and dashboards to monitor fundraising performance trends for individual and business membership appeals and event campaigns.
- Pull and prepare accurate constituent lists for invitations, email and print communications, and individual and business membership appeals
- Create all registration forms for online appeals/campaigns
- Build, test and implement automated solutions to improve fundraising processes such as sending out thank you letters and sending appeals.
- Determine the process for tracking metrics for SPUR policy and engagement efforts in Salesforce to help determine impact over time
- On a weekly and monthly basis, help reconcile gifts received with the Finance department; the position is a liaison to the Finance department.
- Provide ongoing support and training for new and existing employees (general use, job specific use, queries, etc.), including the creation and delivery of learning materials, demoing new features, and documentation maintenance.
- Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for all operational aspects of Salesforce projects.
- Assist with other office, administrative, or special events duties as assigned. This is an “all hands-on deck” department.

Key Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience working as a Salesforce Certified Administrator
- High attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple requests and multiple priorities
- Interest in urban and public/civic affairs
- Self-directing initiative
- Proven effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt to existing systems and improve upon them
- Proficient use of Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong track record of relationship-based business development, fundraising or marketing
- Ability to work in Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $80,000-90,000 and will be based on experience and commensurate with skills and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position. Hybrid Work Environment
At SPUR the health of our employees and their families is our top priority. SPUR has a hybrid workplace model defined by a combination of remote and in-person work. We have mandatory all staff in-person days on Monday and staff may be required to attend other in-person meetings, events and programs as needed. All policies are subject to change as relevant health orders change.
