San Francisco Director
Prior to her current role, Carmela spent five years at Salesforce as a Director, Government Affairs, and was responsible for their efforts at the state and local level as well as managing the Salesforce Political Action Committee. She started her career in the tech industry nearly a decade ago overseeing Hewlett Packard's political programs. Before moving into the private sector, she spent seven years with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, serving in her leadership and political office in Washington, D.C. as well as her district office in San Francisco. During her tenure with Pelosi, she served as the Finance Director for her campaign and leadership PAC, advised the Speaker on her outreach to the Asian American Pacific Islander community, and was also her Deputy District Director in San Francisco. Carmela graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics and a certificate in Asian American Studies. She was born in Quezon City, Philippines and was raised in Ellicott City, Maryland. She currently resides in Oakland California, with her husband, John and two young children, Noah and Isla.
