San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association

Vickie Bell - Membership Associate

Vickie Bell joined SPUR as membership associate in 2007. She is the contact  for all membership questions, including how to join as a new individual or  business member, and questions about the Civitas Society and members' event sponsorships. Vickie developed her passion for urban redevelopment while living in Pittsburgh, PA attending the H. John Heinz III  School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. In Pittsburgh, Vickie dedicated much of her academic work to public art and urban redevelopment theory working with the Sprout Fund, a small granting institution focused on retaining young people in the Pittsburgh region. Having moved to San Francisco 2 years ago, Vickie has focused her efforts in HIV prevention and nutritional services working in both development and volunteer services departments. Vickie comes to SPUR from Project Open Hand where she has dedicated the past year and a half working as a volunteer coordinator for 1200 volunteers who represent nearly $1.2 million in liquid assets for the organization. Prior to her hands-on work with volunteers, Vickie fine tuned her fundraising expertise at the STOP AIDS Project in the Castro. Vickie comes from a family of transportation and urban planning enthusiasts and is thrilled to be joining SPUR to continue her "family legacy."
