Egon Terplan - Economic Development and Governance Policy Director

Egon Terplan is SPUR's Policy Director for Economic Development and Governance. He is also the director of the Municipal Fiscal Advisory Committee (MFAC) which is now part of SPUR.

Prior to joining SPUR, Egon spent over five years with ICF International advising cities and regions throughout the world on economic development and competitiveness. His worked ranged from Argentina to Nigeria and British Columbia to Bosnia & Herzegovina. Prior to ICF, Egon worked on economic development for Mayor Giuliani in New York and with several labor unions, including SEIU and UNITE.

Egon has a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley and an undergraduate degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from Swarthmore College where he wrote a thesis comparing street vendor political organizing in Bogotá, Colombia and New York City.

For the first time in his career, Egon is thrilled to work professionally on the City where he was born.
