Julie Kim - Publications and Communications Manager

Julie Kim is the editor and content manager for Urbanist, SPUR’s monthly publication. She also oversees the organization’s public engagement efforts, including the Web site, marketing collateral, and policy paper distribution.

Prior to joining SPUR, Julie worked as a freelance writer, editor, and curator focusing on issues related to architecture and urbanism. Most recently she was an editor and project manager for William Stout Publishers, and covered the Transbay Tower and Terminal design competition for The Architect’s Newspaper, for which she remains a contributor.

In September 2007, Julie co-curated Street Cred: Architecture and the Pedestrian Experience at the AIA San Francisco. She has also worked in the publications and marketing departments at Studios Architecture and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and as a volunteer for 826 Valencia’s English Language Learner program.

Julie holds a Master of Architecture degree from UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Brown University.
