SPUR Supports Oakland Infrastructure Bond

Letter in support of a $600 million Infrastructure Bond for Oakland to Oakland City Council

Advocacy Letter

SPUR recommends that the Oakland City Council support putting the Oakland Infrastructure Bond on the November ballot. Oakland has a severe shortage of housing that grows more dire each day, a $443 million paving backlog that has put Oakland in 89th place out of 106 Bay Area cities in pavement quality, and a growing number of dated and aging park and library facilities. This November, Oaklanders could have the opportunity to do something about that by voting to approve a $600 million Infrastructure Bond to pay for the repaving crumbling streets, to expand and protect our affordable housing stock and to upgrade and improve community-serving facilities.
