Planning Commission Initiates Coastal Plan Amendment

On March 2nd, the San Francisco Planning Commission formally began review of the proposed Local Coastal Program Amendment. The amendment, which will update the city's Western Shoreline Plan language with policies addressing seal level rise and coastal management, has been under development by the Planning Department along with other agencies and a group of community advisers. It represents and important step in translating the recommendations of the Ocean Beach Master Plan into adopted city policy. Once the amendment is adopted by the Commission (scheduled for April 13th) it will move on to the Board of Supervisors, then to approval by the Coastal Commission.
