Young Urbanists

SPUR Young Urbanists is a new SPUR initiative that seeks to attract people 40 and under who appreciate San Francisco and are interested in deepening their involvement in civic affairs.

SPUR Young Urbanists provide an opportunity for participants to hear from local leaders in the worlds of arts, culture, business and politics, and as well as provide a networking opportunity with contemporaries. Join the Young Urbanists today!

SPUR Young Urbanist events are open to the public. Non-SPUR members pay $20 at the door or may become a member at a special $55 reduced membership price.

Presidio Main Post Walking Tour: A special evening tour for SPUR Young Urbanists!

5:30 - 7:00 pm: Tour of the Presidio Main Post Tour leaves promptly at 5:30 pm from 50 Moraga Avenue at Arguello Boulevard Meet at the Presidio Officer's Club (Southside of the Main Post)

7:00: Drinks to follow at nearby La Terrasse restaurant (215 Lincoln Boulevard)

Accessible by the PresidiGo Shuttle system and the 29 Bus

Join SPUR Young Urbanists for a walking tour of the Presidio Main Post. Come hear for yourself the history of the Presidio and what changes may be on the horizon. This 90-minute guided walk will describe the historic Main Post, and discuss ideas for revitalizing it as the heart of an urban national park. Proposals for discussion will include a heritage center, an archaeology lab, the rescue of a historic theater, and a museum of contemporary art. Guides will be available for answering questions, and offering advice on ways you can become involved in the public process.

The walking tour will conclude at the La Terrasse restaurant at approximately 7:00 pm. Please join us here for hors d'oeuvres and a no host bar. La Terrasse restaurant is located at 215 Lincoln Boulevard.
