If so, SPUR’s Membership Team is looking for you to join us as our Virtual Membership Interface/Web Intern!
We are looking for an intern to help with one of the many faces of SPUR, our website. The position is specifically responsible for managing the web interface that our members and donors access on a regular basis. This volunteer/intern will gain valuable project management experience and potentially some basic HTML, relational database and Adobe experience. Additionally, the volunteer/intern will have opportunities to learn more about SPUR and its practices. They will have access to noon time forums, our policy library, and events.
SPUR is currently delving into research as to how to make our website more user friendly in relation to giving or joining our membership ranks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Compose, manage and test all web updates relating to database and eCommerce
- Compose, manage and test web updates pertaining to SPUR development & membership collateral, including member events pages, events calendars & registration, etc.
- Assist with database updates, relational data queries, reports
- Organize eFiles & server for optimal utilization across development staff
- Act as assistant web and database guru with potential to design and execute staff training
- Other exhilarating duties as they come up or as you suggest to the team!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Microsoft Office – Excel, Word (moderate)
- Adobe Acrobat (beginner to moderate)
- Savvy with email communications (moderate to expert)
- Sense of humor and willingness to be flexible and creative in the face of a changing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Office skills, including mail merge, MS Office, Database experience
- Ability to communicate in writing and over the phone
- Event setup requires ability to lift up to 20 lbs, bending, stooping
- Desktop publishing preferred: Adobe Creative Suite
