Discussion with Mathea Falco on International Drug Prevention Strategies

Mathea Falco is a leading expert in drug use prevention and treatment and is currently the President of Drug Strategies, a nonprofit research institute based in Washington, D.C. Ms. Falco served under President Jimmy Carter as the first U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement from 1977-1981. She is the author of The Making of a Drug-Free America: Programs That Work and frequently comments on drug policy in the media and through public speaking engagements across the country. 

Ms. Falco discussed her perspective on the international drug wars. Her work focuses on prevention and treatment of drug abusers as a mechanism for solving this worldwide problem.
