San Francisco has been enjoying a recent boom in community markets and other street events, tapping into the widespread desire to enjoy our neighborhoods, boost business, bring people together, eat great food and get more from our streets. Both the new Castro farmers market and the Mission Community Market are using creative programming to create neighborhood gathering places, demonstrate the capabilities of a thriving public space and even incubate small businesses.
